Recent hurricanes and major earthquakes highlight the importance of emergency communications. When such a disaster hits Los Angeles, our communications systems—cell phones, land lines, and Internet— likely will fail. Learn how to prepare so you can communicate with members of your immediate and extended family, neighbors, and disaster responders. There will be experts, demonstrations, and hands-on opportunities to try various methods of communications. Plus: vendors and door prizes so you can add to your emergency preparedness supplies.
Participants: Adventure 16; AT&T; CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Team); LAFD-ACS (Auxiliary Communications Services); MVCC (Mar Vista Community Council); More Prepared; Palms Middle School; PepC (Palms Emergency Preparedness Coalition); The Surplus Store
