CERT Training Clase start Tuesday August 20th-Oct. 1st in Beverly Hills

The next CERT training class is close to our neighborhood and starts Tuesday, August 20, and runs through Tuesday, October 1. CERT (Community Emergency Response Team ) The LAFD conducts FREE emergency CERT classes every 2 months throughout the city. The class topics are: Earthquake Preparedness; Fire Suppression; Disaster Medical Operations 1; Disaster Medical Operations 2; Light Search & Rescue Operations; Team Organization & Disaster Psychology; Terrorism and Homeland Defense. You do not have to attend all of the classes, even the first one alone may help you get ready! Burglary 3100 Bentley

TYPE: Burglary WHERE: 3100 Bentley WHEN: Uncertain. Between May 25th and May 30th SUSPECTS: - CHARACTERISTICS: Rear sliding glass door was smashed to gain entry, valuables taken. Police thinks this may be also related to Sat. night incident few doors down which on that incident one suspect is currently in custody. Residents also reported on Sunday afternoon noticing a male, Hispanic, between 20-30, wearing dark T shirt and Hawaiian shorts knocking on doors claiming to sell magazines to help his college fund. Home Invasion / Burglary on 3100 (corrected) Bentley

TYPE: Home Invasion / Burglary

WHERE: 3100 (corrected)Bentley

WHEN: Saturday, May 25th at 10:30 pm

SUSPECTS: African American male (arrested)

He may had an accomplice.

CHARACTERISTICS: as we understand it a burglary suspect gained entrance to a home on Bentley last night through a bathroom window while the owners were home watching television. He proceeded to steal items including a wallet and purse. The homeowner heard a noise in the back room and went to investigate when he was assaulted by the burglar. The suspect fled the home and rode off on a bicycle as the owners called 911. LAPD caught the suspect leaving the area on the bicycle and is now in custody.

We received some inquires about Police Activities this morning.. CULVER CITY, Calif. (KTLA) — Police evacuated an apartment building in Culver City Wednesday morning after finding possible explosives inside a unit. culver-city-picThe bomb squad was at the scene in the 3800 block of Overland Avenue. It all began when Culver City police conducted a traffic stop for an unknown reason, according to preliminary reports. Something about the traffic stop led police to search the driver’s apartment. They discovered what authorities characterized as about a dozen pipe bombs inside the apartment. Residents were evacuated while the the bomb squad checked out the devices. Police expected to be at the scene for several hours. A Vehicle was broken into on the 3400 Block of Greenfield Ave. This happened in the person’s private driveway in the early AM hours on April 29th. Police Activity & Helicopters 04/01/13

UPDATE LOS ANGELES - A man in his 50s found unconscious and unresponsive on the 3100 block of Overland Avenue in Palms Monday night died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, a police lieutenant said. The fallen man was reported at 8:30 p.m., said Lt. Steve Lurie, watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division. The cause of death was not known. No one else was injured at the scene, according to Lurie. Anyone with information on the man's death was asked to call the LAPD's Pacific Division at (310) 482-6334. All tips can be made anonymously.
