Please also review the attached letter and sign up sheet.  George Aceves, President of Security Service Systems, has put together an offer to help our residents who may be interested in a Westside Village Community Patrol Program.  This is an opportunity to help build a safer neighborhood through dedicated security patrols in Westside Village. George will be at the Annual Meeting Thursday evening and available to provide more information and to answer any questions you may have on security, patrols and home alarm systems.

Police Activity 3200 Military 02/19/15

LAPD K9 searched a perimeter at Military & Palms Thursday night after a burglary suspect unwittingly attempted to enter the home of an off-duty police officer (not LAPD). Shots were fired and the suspect fled. It was believed at the time that the suspect was armed but at the end of the incident no suspect weapon had been recovered. The victim fired on the suspect within the residence and a legal firearm was recovered and returned. The suspect is still outstanding. Neighbors did an exceptional job calling in suspicious activity during the search. This followed an active day in Palms after a robbery suspect unsuccessfully hit two banks in Palms and one in Culver City before being apprehended. LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Divisions is handling in conjunction with the FBI. Although he didn’t get any money, attempted robbery of a bank (let alone 3) is a Federal crime.
