In this first neighborhood team exercise we will practice working together as we would in the event of an actual earthquake or other disaster.
The exercise will begin on the front lawn of Palms Middle School on Woodbine between Kelton and Glendon. After a brief introduction, we will divide into teams and "search" the immediate neighborhood for hypothetical "casualties" and "damage" which will be reported back, via hand-held radio, to the command post.

Westside Village Community Crime Meeting
Please joins us for an urgent community crime meeting lead by LAPD discussing the recent burglaries and break-ins in the area.
Thursday August 25th at 7:00 PM at St. Johns Church located at 11000 National Blvd
Our senior lead officer Ceja, has postponed his vacation plans and he will be attending and leading the meeting.
He is again reminding us to lock our doors and windows when leaving the house and lock up our cars at night.
Report any suspicious activities to the police by calling 911 or 1-877-ASKLAPD
DO NOT CALL officer Ceja on his cell phone if you need immediate assistance.
When calling the operator , please be specific, give a clear description of the suspects and tell them your area has been affected with a rash of break-ins and
you need a police car RIGHT AWAY.
ADT alarm company does not have sales people on foot or going door to door without without prior appointment.
However, they may have third parties selling their products, which in that case they should have legit identification and business cards that reads
"ADT authorized dealer" . Do not let anyone in to your home or give information about your current alarm system, you can call ADT to verify
1-800-ADTASAP (238-2727). If they can not provide proper proof of being an authorized dealer or if they make you feel uneasy, politely send them away and call 911 to report them. We would suggest not entertaining any security solicitations. If you are interested in a home security system, call one of the prominant security companies to make an appointment. If you would like a list of the main security companies in our area please let us know and we can forward you some information.
