WHEN: Wednesday 08/17/11 12:30-3:30 pm
SUSPECTS: N/A-
CHARACTERISTICS: Forced entry thru the front doors using a pry-bar/crowbar
-the house was ransacked - all drawers/cabinets searched, carpets and couches moved, and pictures and decorative tiles pulled from walls in search of a safe. The safe was pried open- via crowbar. Loss was limited to easily pawned items: gold, jewelry, cash. No electronics - tv's , dvd players, computers, laptops were taken. No credit cards, checkbooks or identification was taken.
CSI came the next day to lift fingerprints - 2 sets were found, one gloved & one not gloved and prints were lifted.

(UPDATE) Home Burglary 3500 block of Greenfield
UPDATE - BURGLAR CAUGHT
In addition to stealing jewelry and a laptop, the thief also took a spare car key. Later that night he returned to steal the owner's car. This afternoon police stopped the individual on a freeway in the valley and recovered the car, jewelry and laptop. His fingerprints matched those taken from the owner's home. We've now learned that the thief struck the owner's dog over the head with a knife sharpener to knock it out during the burglary. We hope a charge of animal cruelty will be added to his list of offenses.

WHEN: Sunday, November 21 between 1:30-4:30pm

CHARACTERISTICS: Yesterday (Sunday) afternoon there was a break-in of a home on the 3200 block of Midvale. The family was out between 1:30 and 4:30 and it happened at that time. The place was ransacked but they aren't sure what was taken because they have been asked to leave everything as it was until LAPD checks it. It was believed that they got it through a sliding glass door that may have been unlocked.

CHARACTERISTICS: We do not currently have a lot of details, however a home on 3400 Greenfield was burglarized and they appeared to have left through a rear gate to the alley.
Between 3 and 4 PM a Woman was seen knocking on the door of the victims house.
Possibly Hispanic - 35 to 45 years of age ( stocky build) . Approximate 5' 6" tall black hair.
She was wearing a white top and tan jeans. After she knocked on the door she headed north
on Greenfield Ave.
